I went to Fort Hunt High School with Tim in Alexandria, VA. In the spring of ’76, I convinced Tim to go with me to visit my cousin in Hilton Head, SC….unknown to his parents. We hitch-hiked (600 miles.) When we arrived, my mom called Tim’s mom and told her we had arrived safely and I guess provided her with some details. Tim’s mom was furious and demanded that we take the bus home. It was a tortuous 18 hour trip back. We arrived in Alexandria about 2am and took a cab until our money ran out somewhere on Ft. Hunt Road. We walked the rest of the way home.
Tim always carried some coins in his pocket to entertain us with his magic.
Even though I lost touch with Tim decades ago, he is etched in my memories- my young son plays around with coin and magic tricks and I have told him about my amazing friend, Tim the magician.
Thinking about Tim brought back so many good memories that had been lost in a fog. He had so much passion for magic and life in general.
